We formed Anthony Davies over eleven years ago on the 1st January 1998 and started out with the usual expectations and even bigger dreams.

I am Richard Davies and my business partner is Anthony Cicchirillo. We could not incorporate Anthony’s surname as no one can pronounce it properly, so we settled on Anthony’s first name and my surname to make Anthony Davies.

In the late eighties and early nineties we both worked as mortgage advisors for a local and established estate agent. So we served our apprenticeship and eventually decided to set up on our own.

We started out from premises at 49 High Street, Hoddesdon as estate agents offering financial services and ran a small lettings service. After a couple of years our lettings side of the business began to outperform both sales and mortgages. So we took the decision to concentrate on lettings, which we both enjoyed. The buy to let market started to take off, so we began sourcing properties for our investment clients and our portfolio of managed properties began to grow. We remember thinking that looking after 100 managed properties would be good…well we now manage in excess of 500 properties.

We outgrew our original offices in Hoddesdon and moved to 136 High Street in September 2000,then we outgrew that shop as well and moved to 27 High Street in October 2006, which we hope to remain at for many years to come.

In January 2004 we were proud to launch our second office in Hertford which has been a major part of building up our business to where we are today.

We remain committed to building the business further still, we are pro-active in making sure we move with the times and technologies and are mindful that our landlords and tenants expectations need to be met.

I am sure that our success stems from the fact that myself and Tony are both like minded in what we are still striving to achieve. The only thing we ever really disagree on is football as I am an avid Spurs supporter and Tony supports the other team from North London.

What for the future ?…… well we hope we have now laid the foundations and platform to add a few more branches in time to come but we will have to wait and see…
